People face trade off

"To get something you want, you have to give up something else you want."

I have experienced much trade off in my life.  One trade off that I need to face is to choose whether my family or my grandmother. It happens when I and my family went to visit my Lola here in La Union, she asks me to stay and study here. She said that if I will not stay, she will get angry with me.  So, I have to choose whether I go back to Mindoro and ignore what my Lola said or stay and study here in La Union. It’s really hard for me to choose because both of them are very important to me. I don’t want to live faraway with my family. I’m only 13 years old that time and still depending to my parents. But, on the other side, I don’t like to hurt my Lola. I know that one reason why she likes to get me is to help my parents in my study. On this part, I know it will be hard for me to choose and I need to sacrifice one thing.  I choose to stay here with my Lola.  My grandmother gives me everything I need in school and for myself. She always guides me and protects me in everything that makes me realize that I made a right decision.
Another trade off that I have experienced is when I graduated in high school.  I have to choose whether to enroll in private school or have my scholarship. I really want to study in private school. But I’m one of the 10 lucky students that were chosen as scholar of La Caridad foundation, founder of our school.  The scholarship has a good offer, majority of the expenses in my study are being paid with them and we have allowance every week. So, I think thoroughly. If I’m going to enroll in private school, it will just grant my wish but how about my expenses in school? Therefore I decided to have my scholarship. I know that it is the best thing for my study and to assure my future. The money that my family should be spending in my study can be used in my brother’s education.

“It's the action, not the fruit of the action, that's important. You have to do the right thing. It may not be in your power, may not be in your time, that there will be any fruit. But that doesn't mean you stop doing the right thing. You may never know what results come from your action. But if you do nothing, there will be no result.”
